About Me

Nick has been writing in some way, shape, or form for more than two decades. His first semi-serious foray into writing began in high school with the publication of The Graffiti Review, an underground newspaper/zine. The Graffiti Review officially ended its run after 18 issues. Looking back now as society grapples with the demise of the fourth estate and the proliferation of misinformation due to the rise of generative AI tools and the stern refusal of Web 2.0 companies to offer real content moderation policies, Nick realizes The Graffiti Review's special moment in history and how he may need to now keep its spirit alive on this site's blog section. He also contributed a few miscellaneous poems to various literary magazines while in both high school and college.
Nick was also a reporter and opinion writer for The University Daily Kansan at The University of Kansas. This is Nick's second personal website. He still has the entirety of the files from the first one he set up while attending KU, although he is still not sure exactly what he is going to do with the plethora of low resolution .png and .mp4 files he still has from it.
Nick worked a brief stint at The Kansas City Star as a blogger for The Star's website. He also contributed a couple of editorials to their print edition.
He also wrote, recorded, and directed The Poetry Cafe, a poetry podcast for around two years. The audio files have been lost due to poor backup procedures, although the poems do survive. Since the demise of The Poetry Cafe, Nick has continued to write as well as further explore his interests in music and photography.

As of October of 2025, Nick has finished his 2nd Fringe Production, entitled No Place Like Home, which premiered at the KC Fringe Festival. His show was about Kansas City, the absurdity of the human condition, and the power of art to change your life. He is currently working on a second part to this. He also recently finished writing and editing his first book, entitled The Nautilus. He is working on publishing this soon.
